09 Hana Ivy Tree, Hana, Maui, Hawaii

It's color or contrast that inspire me to paint a scene, this view just stopped me as I was driving around the back side of the island. I painted only watercolor for the first 10 years on Maui.

10 Brig Carthaginian, Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii

This replica of an 1800 Whaling ship graced the Lahaina harbor until the Lahaina Action Committee removed it in 2006. They had it sunk in shallow waters within reach of divers. This water color painting took two weeks on location and was finished one week before it was dismantled.
