12, "Honokohau Inlet" Acrylic on linen panel, 30x50

Painted in three days, sitting on the bridge in beautiful Honokohau.  This stream comes from one of the wettest spots on earth, the top of the West Maui mountains.  That's Molokai Island in the background.

Notice that the horizon line is always darkest on the horizon line.  The "rule of edges" proclaims, it's darkest next to the light and lightest next to the dark".  More about this in Painting on Location.
